The best sights to visit
The town of Quimper
10 minutes from our hotel
Quimper is listed as a Town of Art and History and it has plenty to surprise you!
Wander through the town centre and head towards the Place Terre au Duc. Here you can admire the lovely, colourful, traditional half-timbered houses.
Continue your tour of the streets of Quimper in the direction of Saint-Corentin cathedral. The building of the cathedral started in the 13th century on the foundations of an old Romanesque church. The Palais des Évêques (episcopal palace) adjoins the cathedral. It now houses the Breton Museum
The town of Concarneau
30 minutes from our hotel
Also listed as a Town of Art and History, you will love the charming medieval town of Concarneau. Concarneau is by the sea and it has a very distinctive walled town, built in the 15th and 16th centuries.
Stroll along the streets of the walled historical town centre of Concarneau and enjoy wandering along paved streets among beautiful traditional houses.
Remember to stop off at the town’s harbour for a breath of sea air.
The old town of Locronan
30 minutes from our hotel
This town was built in the 11th century and is member of the exclusive club of towns listed both as “Small Towns of Character” and “Most Beautiful Villages in France”. Its elegant granite houses were built from the wealth derived from weaving canvas for sails. Several films have made use of this unique setting with no electric wires, antennas or traffic lights: R. Polanski’s Tess, P. de Broca’s The Royalists, J.-P Jeunet’s A Very Long Engagement
Pont-Aven and Port Manech
50 minutes from our hotel
The little town of Pont-Aven owes its fame to the art school and particularly to Gauguin. Lovely walks will lead you from one bank of the River Aven to the other by secret footbridges, running alongside wash houses, reaches and gates that irrigate the remains of mills.
A 15th century tide mill and the Château du Hénant are located further downstream.
The river leads to the sea and the Port-Manech beach with its white cabins.
The little harbour of Doelan
60 minutes from our hotel
Tucked away in a narrow ria; the little harbour provides shelter for fishers and boaters. A maritime treasure in a landscape of valleys and orchards. A postcard with smart-looking fishing boats, thatched stone cottages and white houses rising in tiers on the banks.
Cap-Sizun
45 minutes from our hotel
Cap Sizun is at the westernmost tip of Brittany’s Cornouaille. It is a wonderful place to go hiking and it is an excellent way to admire the beauty of the landscapes in Brittany.
The popular long-distance GR34 footpath running from Mont-Saint-Michel to Saint-Nazaire takes you along Cap-Sizun. You can also enjoy the Cap-Sizun coast on the GR34, which it runs along it.
You can also try a number of other day hikes!
